As part of our meet the team series of articles, we thought to write a feature on two of our latest interns. Chaitany and Edward have been with us for a couple of weeks so we thought to share their characters; get their perspective on the happenings at Chironix and ask them what they’ve learned from the experience so far.

Students must be exposed to the most effective skills and strategies to advance with technology, developing initiative, collaboration and flexibility between subjects. This will allow those with a passion in STEM to reach their greatest potential, and those without a passion to have access to more exciting ideas and opportunities to get them interested.

PilotOS is the Chironix solution to communication between robots and humans in a hybrid workforce. The hardware-half is known as Chiropack — the package of sensors that enable the robotic behaviors from teleoperation to GPS waypoint navigation. The combination PilotOS and Chiropack allows robots to take care of the dull, dirty, dangerous and dear tasks, acting as a field-service agent from a central command and control in indoor/outdoor situations.

On August 17th, Chironix attended the Mechelmech 2022 Curtin Networking event, which focussed on allowing future engineering students to engage with industry professionals. The event was open to students of all years across Mechatronics, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering disciplines.

Modern organizations use data to drive their business’ decision-making. This data can come from a wide variety of sources, and for industries such as manufacturing, energy, and oil and gas, IoT sensors and operators’ rounds and readings have long been the leading options. However, in the past couple of years, these industries have started to turn to a third solution, which offers greater coverage at a fraction of the cost—dynamic sensing through agile mobile robots like Spot.
